Leonard
Ross
Sergeant Major Leonard Ross,
75, died February 5th at St. Simons Island, Georgia. SGM Ross
retired in 1972 after 30 years of service. He was a veteran of
World War II, the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam.
SGM Ross was assigned to the
USAMU Pistol Branch in 1960 as a Shooter/Instructor and Pistol
Coach. He was awarded the U. S.
Army Distinguished
Pistol Shot Badge and
was a 2600 shooter. SGM Ross later served as the Pistol Coach
at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, New York, from 1967 to 1972.
In 1975 he became Chief of the
Firearms Division, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center,
Brunswick, Georgia. Additionally, he later had oversight
responsibility for anti-terrorism training in the Security
Specialties Division at the Training Center.
