Major (Retired) Arthur S.
Manchester died May 30, 2008. MAJ Manchester was a resident of
Anaheim, California. MAJ Manchester entered the military in 1943 and
completed 41 years of active and reserve service.
He fired with the U.S. Army
Pistol Team in 1952-1954 before the formation of the Army
Marksmanship Unit. He was one of the first Army pistol shooters to
fire a perfect 200 Timed Fire score in competition -- a rare feat in
that era. |
