Clifford N. Davis

Clifford N. Davis, 59, died July 27, 2006, in Denham Springs, Louisiana.

Cliff was born in Tampa, Florida in 1947. He graduated from Plant High School in Tampa and Gordon Military College in Barnesville, Georgia.

Cliff attained the rank of Captain in the U.S. Army and was assigned to the International Rifle Section of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Training Unit at Fort Benning, Georgia.

In 1971, he won a gold medal in shooting at the Pan American Games in Cali, Columbia, and he was awarded the United States Distinguished International Shooter Badge, serial number 163, for his shooting performance as a member of the first place 50m Smallbore Rifle Team.

Cliff retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 30 years of service in the tire industry and then was employed by AM-PAC Tire Distributors, Inc.

Cliff was an active member of the Mississippi Track Club and the 50 States Marathon Club. He was a dedicated runner, competing for many years in numerous races, including over 20 marathons. He was a resident of Clinton, Mississippi for the past 19 years.
