Robert E.
Rob Harbison is a native of State College, Pennsylvania.
He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a B.S.
in Psychology in 1988. Rob was commissioned in June of 1988 as a
second lieutenant and went on active duty in the armor branch. He
served in numerous armor assignments and also served three tours with
USAMU. Robs first tour with the USAMU was as a summer
pick-up service rifle shooter. Rob later served two tours
with the International Rifle Section, and served as the USAMU
S3/Detachment Commander.
His awards and
decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal,
Parachutist Badge, United States Distinguished International Shooter
Badge, U.S. Army Distinguished Rifleman Badge, and and
Presidents Hundred Tab. Additionally, he is a former smallbore
rifle national champion, world cup gold medalist, former member of a
winning ten man inter-service team, former member of a winning CISM
team, and a 1996 Olympian.
Rob retired as a
Lieutenant Colonel in 2008. He lives in Columbus with his wife
Elizabeth and their two daughters, Julia and Kate. Rob is currently
working for the Fort Benning Maneuver Center of Excellence supporting
combat ammunition development. He can still be seen occasionally
sleeping in tree stand or on a KD range trying not to crossfire. |
