General
Membership Meeting - October 2006
1. General Membership Meeting: A General Membership Meeting of
the Military Marksmanship Association was held on October 20, 2006 at
Phillips Range, Fort Benning, Georgia.

LTC Charles T. “Ty” Connett, USAMU Commander.

e. Call to Order: A quorum being
present, the President called the meeting to order at 3:10 p.m.
2. Unfinished Business: None.
3. New Business:
a. President’s Report:
(1) Welcome: The President welcomed
the membership and reunion guest and thanked them for their
attendance. He noted that members had traveled from as far as Hawaii,
Alaska, and Belgium.
(2) USAMU Support: The President
thanked the USAMU Commander for supporting the MMA and thanked the
soldiers of the unit for doing the heavy work in setting up the tents
and for running the ranges during the Round Robin shoot.
(3) MMA Status: The President stated
that the financial status of the MMA was excellent due in part to the
watchful eye of our Treasurer, “Sam” Hunter.
(4) MMA Life Member Status: The
President thanked those MMA members who had chosen to become life
members. He noted that he had made an appeal to have 50 life members
by the 50th USAMU/MMA anniversary reunion and that figure had been
met and exceeded.
(5) MMA Round Robin Shoot: The
President announced the winning Round Robin teams and team members
and presented the award plaques.
(6) Reunion Photographs: Photographs
were taken of the individual section attendees and the original 1956
members present.
b. Election of MMA Officers for 2007 to 2009:
The President announced that in accordance with Article II, Section
1 of the MMA Bylaws, a nominating committee was formed and proposed a
slate of officers that was subsequently approved by the current Board
of Directors. The President gave a brief summary of each
nominee then presented the slate of candidates to the general
membership for vote:
President: Robert I. Hoidahl, Jr.
Vice-President: Ronald F. Martere
Secretary: Laurence Moseley
Treasurer: Sam Hunter
There being no nominees offered from the floor, a motion was made,
seconded, and carried by popular acclamation to elect the slate of
officers as presented for a two-year term with the officers being
installed at the General Membership Meeting in January 2007 and to
serve through January 2009.
7. Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 3:45 p.m. and the
members and guests were treated to a BBQ at the Pecan Grove.
