General
Membership Meeting - October 2002
1. General Membership Meeting: A General Membership Meeting of
the Military Marksmanship Association was held on October 19, 2002 at
Pool Range Overlook, Pool Range Complex, Fort Benning, Georgia

c. U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit Representative:
Colonel Robert I. Hoidahl, Jr.
d. Call to Order: A quorum being
present, the President called the meeting to order at 1530 hours.
2. Unfinished Business:
a. Incoporation of MMA: The President
announced that the MMA had been incorporated and that the board was
working to obtain 501c(3) tax-exempt status under the Internal
Revenue Code. Additionally, he declared that the Association was in
good financial shape.
b. Introduction of Executive Board:
The President introduced each member of the current Executive Board
to the membership. He noted their collective work ethic then thanked
them for their support of him, and asked the membership to join him
in applauding the board members.
5. New Business:
a. Election of Officers: The President
remarked that the main purpose of this General Meeting was to elect
new Association officers. He noted that the recent change in the
Constitution changed the term to serve in office from one to two
years. He further explained that the new officers would be installed
in January 2003 at the Annual Meeting and would serve through January 2005.
(1) The President announced that he was not
able to seek re-election and that "Arch" Arnold had
consented to being nominated for President. A motion was made,
seconded, and carried to elect Archibald V. Arnold III as MMA President.
(2) The President noted that our current Vice
President, "Rick" Hawkins, had been hired as the USAMU
International Rifle Coach and he was stepping down so there would be
no conflict of interest. The President stated that Bruce Meredith had
agreed to run for Vice President. A motion was made, seconded, and
carried to elect Bruce Meredith MMA Vice President.
(3) The President commented that the
Recording Secretary and the Treasurer had agreed to serve another
term. A motion was made, seconded, and carried to re-elect Laurence
K. Mosely as the MMA Recording Secretary and, in-turn, a motion was
made, seconded, and carried to re-elect Samuel W. Hunter as the MMA Treasurer.
b. Appreciation for USAMU Support: The
President thanked Colonel Hoidahl for the support provided by the
unit during the joint MMA Reunion and the 46th USAMU Anniversary.
7. Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 1600 hours.
