Minutes of the Meeting
January
2007
1. Monthly Meeting: The monthly Executive Board Meeting of the
Military Marksmanship Association was held January 12, 2007, in the
Army Marksmanship Conference Room, Building 243.

e. Call to Order: A quorum being
present, the President called the meeting to order at 1:05 p.m.
2. Treasurer’s Report: Motion made, seconded, and carried
to approve the Treasurer’s Reports for December 2006.
3. Minutes: Minutes of the Executive Board Meeting held on
December 14, 2006, were not available.
4. Unfinished Business: None.
5. New Business:
a. Soldier of the Year Award: The
President displayed a Smith & Wesson Military and Police model
caliber .40 pistol that will be presented to the MMA Soldier of the Year.
b. Annual Meeting Door Prize: The
President announced that Crossman, Corp., had donated a caliber .177
air rifle to the MMA. He stated that the air rifle would be given as
the main door prize and that only members in good standing would be
eligible for the drawing.
c. Annual Meeting Refreshments: Phil
Cannella volunteered to coordinate and purchase the refreshments for
the Annual Meeting. Motion made, seconded, and carried to authorize
the expenditure of $600.00 for refreshments at the Annual General
Membership Meeting.
d. USAMU Report: The USAMU Deputy
reported the following items:
(1) USAMU 50th History Book: Turner
Publishing Company submitted a draft copy of the 50th USAMU History
Book for review. Minor corrections were made and USAMU returned to
the publisher. Shipping of the book is still scheduled for March 2007.
(2) USAMU Unit Colors: USAMU will
receive the official Unit Colors in March or April 2007.
(3) USAMU Headquarters Detachment:
General Orders were published announcing that the USAMU HQ Detachment
has been designated as a permanent detachment.
(4) USAMU Memorabilia Store: The USAMU
SGM is exploring the possibility of opening a USAMU memorabilia store
similar to the Ranger memorabilia store.
e. USAMU Sergeants Major List: The
USAMU Deputy is compiling a list of all previous USAMU Sergeants
Major. He requested that the MMA send the list to the membership for review.
f. Membership: The Membership Chairman
reported that the association’s membership had increased from
656 members in December to 659 members in January.
6. Next Meetings: The next Executive Board Meeting will be
scheduled to coincide with the mailing of the 2007 Membership
Directory. Date to be announced. (Note: The February MMA Executive
Board Meeting and mailing of the 2007 MMA Membership Directory was
held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 15, 2007.)
7. Adjournment: The meeting was adjourned at 13:40 p. m.
