Membership in the Military Marksmanship Association, Inc., is voluntary and is open to all active duty and retired members of the U. S. Armed Forces and to the general public (civilians without military service) who support the goals and objectives of this Association subject to the restrictions in the next paragraph.
Additionally, the Military Marksmanship Association, Inc., is recognized as a Veteran's Organization under Internal Revenue Service Code Section 501(c)(19); therefore, the membership composition must be maintained so that at least 75 percent of the members are past or present members of the U. S. Armed Forces and that at least 97.5 percent of all members of the association are past or present members of the U. S. Armed Forces, cadets (ROTC or armed services academies), or spouses, widows, or widowers of a member of the U.S. Armed Forces. Application for membership by civilians without military service could be restricted based on the above formula.
Membership categories are described below: Annual Member: $15.00 first year and $10.00 each year thereafter. Members may elect to pay dues in advance for multiple years at the current dues rate. Please consider joining for more than one year if you do not elect the Life Member option below. Life Membership: Members may elect a Life Membership for a payment of $300.00. Members may receive credit for any un-started years dues paid in advance. Life members will be appropriately recognized with a personalized laser engraved plaque. Eligible persons included in this category are current and past members of the U. S. Amy Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) which was also named U. S. Amy Marksmanship Training Unit (USAMTU), individuals who were assigned or attached TDY to the Army National Trophy Group at the National Matches, the Army Area Marksmanship Training Units (MTU), Army Post, Camp, or Station Teams, other service members attached to USAMU, and civilian employees of these organizations. Membership is also open to members of the other branches of service (active and retired) and to a limited number of civilian members as noted above.
Membership benefits include an annual Membership Directory, quarterly issues of the MMA Times newsletter, subscription to an E-mail list, and periodic Association Reunions. By submission of a Membership Application Form and membership dues, each member agrees to abide by the provisions of the Constitution and Bylaws of the Military Marksmanship Association. All members are required to read the Constitution and Bylaws of the Association as a condition of membership. All new members will receive a copy of the Constitution and Bylaws. The information provided on the Membership Application Form will be added to the Association's membership database for the purpose of compiling a membership directory, notifying members of Association activities via the Association's quarterly newsletter or notification by E-mail, if an E-mail address was provided.
